If you need guidance on our reaction time test, please refer to the following guide:
You’ll see a message on your screen that says:
“Click or press space to Start”
By clicking or pressing space, you signal that you’re ready to measure your reaction time. Once you do this, the test will move to the next phase.
After you start, the screen will display:
“Wait for it…”
The test randomly decides how long to make you wait. This randomness prevents you from guessing the perfect moment to click or press space, ensuring a more accurate measurement of your reactions.
Suddenly, the text will change to:
“CLICK NOW!”
This is your cue to react as quickly as possible. Press space or click immediately once you see this. The speed of your response is the key focus of the test.
If you try to click or press space before “CLICK NOW!” appears, you’ll see:
“Too soon! Click or press space to try again.”
This warning helps maintain fair results. It ensures the test is measuring an actual reaction rather than a lucky guess.
When you do respond to “CLICK NOW!,” the test times exactly how many milliseconds pass between the appearance of that prompt and your click or keypress. It’ll show something like:
“Your reaction time: 250 ms”
The faster you respond, the lower (and better) your result.
If you’d like to improve your score, simply follow the on-screen instruction:
“Click or press space to try again.”
You can repeat the test as many times as you want to see if you can react even faster.
When you’re happy with your performance (or even if you just want others to join in), you can use the prompt:
“Share your result and challenge your friends!”
The test gives you a share message like:
“I just got 250ms in this Reaction Test! See if you can beat me:”
This makes it easy to challenge friends and compare reaction times.
